Clear 'Permalife' lamp with bayonet cap and 68mm envelope (Guiseley, UK). These lamps were specially made following an order by Jeremy:

"In 1997 I approached Crompton about having an 80mm bulb Permalife made , a Permalife Derby 100 if you like. They couldn't do the big 80mm bulbs anymore by then, but they offered a 68mm bulb, still used on crown silvers, 150 Watt lamps and various rough service bulbs. I dealt with a very helpful chap called John Walton and they did me 50 x 60watt lamps in a 68 mm bulb. I visited the factory at Guiseley ( now closed down - Crompton make very few lamps themselves anymore ) and saw them being made."
