The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 11th June 2011.

As this road falls within the Chester Green Conservation Area, the new lighting here was a little different to the normal equipment installed on the PFI's relighting schemes - the columns are 5 m in height; painted black, and each was fitted with a Metcraft Victoria post-top lantern running a 45 Watt CPO-TW lamp.

Only two columns were due for removal here - the rest had been replaced in the late 1990s with similar 'heritage' lanterns fitted to Abacus base-hinged columns. The first of these two columns was located within the branches of an adjacent tree; unsurprisingly, its replacement was situated on the opposite side of the road.

A Thorn Beta 5 35 Watt SOX lantern was fitted to this column. The presence of the branches made seeing the lantern quite difficult!

Additional new columns had been installed along the road.

The reflector in the new lanterns is tilted by five degrees, in order to allow a better distribution across the entire carriageway.

The second outgoing column also supported a Beta 5. albeit an older, top-entry version.

The lamp looked about ready for replacement anyway.
