Derby's Street Lighting PFI Contract

Lindrick Close, Mickleover

This road was constructed in the mid-1980s, and the two columns installed on it date from then as well. I was surprised that this estate was not relit as part of the mass-replacement work in the early years of the PFI, as roads of a similar age in Oakwood were. Still, at least this ensured that the road was in virtually as-built condition.

The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 19th September 2015.

The two columns installed on this short cul-de-sac were fitted with Thorn Gamma 6 post-top lanterns.

The left-hand side of the foreground lantern has been sprayed black, in an attempt to reduce the amount of light that passes into the rear windows of the adjacent house.
