The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 11th March 2012.

A Revo 'Moseley' cast iron column supporting a Phosco P109 post-top lantern was first from North Row.

An identical setup followed for the next installation. The only difference was that the bowl fitted to this P109 was generally in a very poor condition - the once-clear plastic had lost its transparency and had developed several cracks; a length of insulation tape had been applied in an attempt to hold it all together. Photographic evidence (visible on the extreme-left here) taken at an unknown date (but believed to be in the 1970s) shows this column and lantern - naturally, the lantern was in much better condition back then; it would still have been relatively new at the time. The now-outgoing heritage lighting in this area was installed in the same decade using columns that had been removed from elsewhere in the City, restored and then installed around the Old Village.

Profile of the column's base area.

The third outgoing installation comprised a Revo 'Hull' column supporting a DW Windsor 'Warwick' lantern. The archival photographs mentioned above do not show that this column existed here at the time - the installation's "different" number also suggesting that this column was installed additionally. The replacement columns were cast at a foundry in Huddersfield especially for this scheme. They replicate the a style of column that still exists in the grounds of the nearby St Matthew's Church - this was made by a Derby-based foundry in 1865. The lantern fitted to this column is very similar in appearance to the SUGG Camberwell (the chosen lantern for the relighting scheme; not yet fitted to the column seen here), and could be an earlier version of the design.

Despite only having been installed a few days before these pictures were taken, already the paint finish had been damaged (perhaps during installation). Hopefully, this will be remedied in due course.
