The replacement columns along here were installed in very similar positions to where the old columns were located - the old lanterns mainly consisting of remotely-geared Philips MA 90s on 8m columns. The new columns are at 10m with medium (SGS 253) Iridiums.

The lighting onto the A38 sliproad was also being replaced at the same time. Again the old lanterns were MA 90s, but were mounted to 25ft Stewart and Lloyd columns. The replacement columns here are 8m, with large (SGS 254) Iridiums:
