Local Holophane Factors
The first Factors that I spotted installed in Derbyshire were on a new foot / cycle path leading away from a newly-created roundabout on the A61 in Wingerworth, just south of Chesterfield, in June 2015. By this time, LED was very much the standard option for all new lighting schemes on roads under the County Council's ownership.
These Factors are fitted to 5 m mid-hinged Mallatite columns; coincidentally, the Mallatite factory is located in Chesterfield.
The very slim profile of the lantern is demonstrated here. Unusually for a modern lantern, there is no means of installing the lantern directly to a column spigot; a short outreach side-entry bracket has had to be fitted.
Two separate matrixes, each accommodating ten LEDs, are fitted.
