Local Urbis Thylias

The Thylia appeared on Derby's now pedestrianised Willow Row following the completion of the Joseph Wright Sixth Form centre in 2005. The shape of the brackets are intended to resemble willow trees - real trees could apparently not be planted due to the amount of services which run beneath the surface of the road - their roots might cause damage...

The lanterns are fitted with metal halide lamps of an unknown wattage.

Two bracket styles are employed:

Two metal halide bollards were fitted in-between each column to ensure a minimum amount of dark patches; however, after they were vandalised, all were removed.
