Local D.W. Windsor Polars
I am only aware of a single Polar lantern that exists in Derbyshire - it is located on Derby's Pride Park and serves as a replacement for an Urbis Saturn lantern of similar styling, following the replacement of its column.
At the time of photographing, in September 2015, the column was still painted in its grey primer and was yet to receive its top coat of red paint (no doubt that red tape is delaying this work!). This made for a marked contrast between the lantern, most of the bracket, and the embellishment kit fitted to the column.
The bracket looked to have had some refurbishment (or repairs) carried out on it, prior to being reinstalled.
Astoundingly, the lantern is facing the correct way around - in fairness, the sticker at the front does indicate that this is indeed the front of the lantern...the sticker also also reminds operatives that it should be removed once the lantern is installed!
