Local SUGG Rochesters

Examples of the Rochester are limited to a small area around Sandiacre Town Centre; specifically, the area immediately adjacent the Erewash Canal.

The Rochesters employed on this scheme are of the 'large' variant.

The lanterns are supported by decorative 'hoop'-type outreach brackets.

This close-up of the lantern suggests that the circular reflector surrounding the lantern's optic has been rotated at some point - the red label located top-right instructs installers that it needs to be positioned at the 'road' side of the lantern, in order for the reflector to be correctly focused, even though the reflector is set correctly in the position shown here. The lanterns run either a 100 Watt or 150 Watt SON-T lamp.

A general view of the town centre area.

Although the columns appear very ornate, they are actually standard Fabrikat 8 m tubular steels that have been fitted with embellishment kits.
