P5
From July 1987 - thanks to Mick Haruk for providing both the cell, and the message attached to it! This cell entered the Collection in 2010 - yes; thermal cells could still be found on the streets of Derby well into the 21st Century! The cell was attached to a long-abandoned Philips ME 70 that was fitted to a heavily-rusted Abacus column adjacent the railway bridge on Derby's Deadman's Lane. The feed for the column appears to have been installed in a steel conduit that is fastened to the wall alongside the column. |
