Bakerloo line 1938 Stock ‘bobble hanger’

Unlike the 1959 Stock bobble hanger, the 1938 Stock hanger’s spring has rusted with age. In addition, an internal chain prevents the hanger from being pulled too far, rather than the tensioned cable as seen in the 1959 Stock hanger. A small amount of green paint survives on the hanger’s roof connector. Notice the Pre-1979 line car diagram in the background.
