GEC Z9555

Thanks to Richard James of Harrison Lighting for this unused lantern.

GEC's range of sodium cutoff lanterns are instantly recognisable due to their incredibly simple, 'no-frills' design.

The lantern's sole method of optical control comes in the form of two angled reflectors positioned either side of the lamp.

The reflectors extend slightly out of the lamp area and into the bowl - this further enhances the cutoff nature of the lantern.

The lantern was installed on an AC Ford AC872 wall bracket on Sunday, 31st May 2009. It was then powered up using a Philips L4135 leak transformer.

Testing the fitting with my energy monitoring device revealed the following results:

Test Voltage (V) Current being drawn at full power (A) Calculated wattage (W) Apparent Power (VA) Frequency (Hz) Power Factor True Power (W)
240.4 1.08 180 260 49.9 0.70 181.74
