2012 C Stock Car Diagram
This diagram was removed from a redundant C Stock car, following the stock’s withdrawal from service in July 2014. With the removal of the C Stock from the sub-surface network, this style of diagram (with Circle, Hammersmith & City and District [Edgware Road to Wimbledon section] lines) represented has itself been retired; the new S7 Stock trains featuring separate diagrams for the Circle and Hammersmith & City and District lines.
The three lines depicted on this diagram have their legend displayed in the top-right corner of the diagram. Incidentally, two sizes of this diagram were produced; this is the larger type and would have been installed above a set of doors. The smaller type was seen above the seats.
The diagram has been amended in a few points, with adhesive labels placed over the original laminated diagrams. Here, we see that the section between Hammersmith and Royal Oak is one such amendment. I assume that these modifications indicate the stations with step-free access.
Two alterations have occurred to the main Circle line area - King’s Cross St. Pancras station also now has step-free access, and interchange with the Northern and Bakerloo lines at Embankment has been removed, owing to escalator replacement works that occurred in 2014.
Interchange with the District line is only shown at both Aldgate East and Barking, despite this line also calling at the intermediate stations as well. The reason that these interchanges are shown is to remind any passengers using Hammersmith & City services that require stations along the south of the Circle line, or stations beyond Barking, that they will need to change trains at these points.
