21f. Off the High Street, Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire. Attached to a building located opposite the landmark water tower is a GEC Z5560 lantern, fitted with a Philips SL*18 compact fluorescent lamp. The lantern has a clear bowl and internal refractor ring. Apart from the Revo wall bracket's finial being damaged, the installation is in a good condition. I would think that the lantern is probably manually switched from inside the building.
By 2022, the SL lamp had succumbed to a newer electronic compact fluorescent lamp, but the installation itself was little changed since the earlier pictures were taken, save for the black paint peeling in places.
