Simplex Aries and GEC Z9532 lanterns, both running 35 Watt SOX, were removed here. These photographs were taken on Thursday, 8th April 2010.
The next Aries along was fitted with a Royce Thompson SC1000 cell (the type more commonly seen fitted to the new lanterns) on the 8th May 2008, along with a new lamp. Previously, the lantern had received a new photocell on the 26th April 1996, another one on the 8th April 1998, and a new ignitor and lamp on the 21st August 2000.
The Royce Thompson Monostar 1000 cell fitted to the Aries located opposite Freesia Close had developed a fault towards the end of the lantern's life that caused it to activate the lamp well after dusk every evening; this had been fitted on the 20th September 1999, with the lantern's last recorded lamp change being on the 15th September 2006:
I had previously photographed this Aries when it was dayburning. Fortunately, this fault had not recurred since the faulty cell was replaced on the 17th August 2006:
The lantern pictured above is seen on the left of this picture. Wenlock Close is on the right.
Around the bend, the first of two Z9532s was installed. This too gained a replacement photocell on the 17th August 2006; the previous one having been installed on the 20th September 1999. A new lamp was fitted on the 2nd November 2005.
The second Z9532 was still fitted with a 1990s' Sirebeck S300 cell; the date for this probably being on the 26th May 1998. A fresh lamp and ballast were installed on the 26th November 1999.
