Derby's Street Lighting PFI Contract
Barf Close, Mickleover
(This is not a joke - this really is the name of this small cul-de-sac; much as I would like to believe that it was named after me, it existed before I did!)
The column being removed on this road was:
Seq. No. | Lamp Number | Location | Lamp Type | Watt | Isolation Point |
1 |
90568 | BETWEEN NOS 1/3 | SXPL3 | 35 |
The single outgoing column (supporting a GEC Z9532) was replaced with a single new column, albeit in a different location. The following photographs were taken on the 4th April 2010 - Easter Sunday.
Proof of the road's name...I have so far resisted the temptation to add "ord" to the nameplate!
Both the outgoing and new column can be seen in this photograph. There are very few suitable locations for installing columns on this road, owing to the location of driveways and suchlike. The Z9532 received a new photocell on the 26th April 1996, a new lamp and photocell on the 4th July 2002, and a new lamp and ballast on the 31st October 2003.
