The first column from Ladybank Road saw its lantern receive a new lamp and photocell on the 6th January 2005. It then gained a replacement lamp on the 12th December 2007, but when reported as not working in April 2008, no faults were found. The second column (in the foreground of this picture) received a new lamp and photocell on the 20th August 2003, followed by the same, as well as a new ignitor and lampholder on the 30th March 2006. The final new lamp was fitted on the 2nd January 2009. The record for the third lamp includes a note about "Conversions 1991/2", which, presumably, relates to when these Philips MI 26s were installed in place of Thorn Beta 7 80 Watt MBF (mercury vapour) lanterns. Also included are mentions of the lantern receiving a new lamp and photocell on the 1st May 2002, the same again on the 3rd April and 14th July 2003 (apparently, due to vandalism both times), and an ignitor on the 10th September.
This Thorn Gamma 6 was attached to a 15 ft column on the footpath linking Barnwood and Staines Closes. This also received a replacement lamp on the 14th July 2003 (the old one was broken). Sadly, this didn't last long, as by the 20th August it had been smashed again, and the photocell was missing. More vandalism occurred on the 15th June 2004, requiring another new lamp, and again on the 4th October and the 30th March - on these two occasions, lamps and photocells were both required.
