112J. Little Grove Place, Bedford With thanks to Brian Randall for informing me of this Survivor. Installed approximately two-thirds along the length of this short and narrow cul-de-sac is an ELECO 'Welwyn' top-entry lantern fitted to an ornate wall bracket. An 80 Watt MBF (mercury vapour) lamp is fitted, although the understanding is that the installation does not work any longer.

The bracket's design takes the overhang of the roof behind into account, with the resultant curve in the pipework having a decorative spiral place within it, both to fill the gap created, and to provide a means of attaching the bracket to the wall.

An unusual umbrella-like object exists above the lantern - this may be part of an earlier lantern that was left in place when the Welwyn was fitted. A Royce Thompson P42 two-part photocell detector exists on the side of the lantern, although it would have been controlled by a time switch originally.

As was the case on Court Road, Cranfield, the fuse / control gear box is also an ELECO product, though it is identified as "ELEC Ltd". The two threaded rods used in securing the box door are missing, leading the upper clamp pieces to be wrapped in wire as a makeshift method of preventing the box from opening unexpectedly.
