134AM. Great Wakering, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea, Essex With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. Several vintage notable installations exist within this small village, all of which run (or ran) low pressure sodium (SOX) lamps, even in late May 2024.

This ELECO HW-747 is attached to (what I think is) an earlier version of the 'Estate Minor' 15 ft (5 m) concrete column and 'Arc 3' top-entry bracket, both of which were made by Concrete Utilities.

Although the lantern is facing the 'correct' way around, the bowl is not - the refractor panel should be positioned towards the front of the lantern, rather than the back.

The slight gap between the bracket and the column is filled with a cement-like compound known as "Rok-Rap" - this was sold with CU columns to create a weatherproof seal, and where used, generally, the amount of spalling present around this joint is minimal, if any exists at all.

Back on Little Wakering Road, this GEC Z9538 is attached to a pole bracket.

With the Z9538 featuring an aluminium canopy, it is likely to be an older model, with later versions featuring a GRP (Glass-Reinforced-Polymer) canopy instead. Attached at the other end of the bracket is a vintage Revo Tipton fuse box, although as a newer GRP enclosure exists alongside, the Revo box may now be empty.

A little further up this road, and again attached to a pole bracket, was this GEC Z9491.

The bracket's support bar has a slight bend in it.

Zooming in on the lantern reveals that, unlike the HW-747, it is installed 'backwards', and the 35 Watt SOX lamp has been exchanged with an LED retro-fit product instead. Just visible above the lamp is the v-shaped reflector, which also conceals the control gear components for running the SOX lamp - though the gear may have been removed when the LED lamp was introduced; it not being required with the alternative light source type.

This too features a Revo fuse box, as well as the outer casing for a long-removed Royce Thompson P9 photocell (part code 'A2'), which is screwed into the underside of the Revo box, thanks to its 3/4 inch BSP thread.
