213E. Off Lawn Central and Woodhouse Central, Old Park, Lawley and Overdale, Telford, Shropshire With thanks to Leo Conway for discovering these Survivors. Installed within car parks that are located adjacent these two nearby roads are 10 and 12 m tapered sheet steel columns, all of which still (as of March 2025) support CU Phosco P222 post-top lanterns, designed for running between two and four lamps, depending on the types and wattages of lamps required. Whilst the two to three-lamp configuration permitted lamps of up to 400 Watts, the four-lamp version was limited to 250 Watt as a maximum. I am uncertain as to the quantities employed here, although as the surrounding area requiring lighting is vast, I would expect that three lamps (at least) are employed.

The Lawn Central example is pictured first, with the adjacent Telford Plaza building being rather well camouflaged against the bright blue sky.

What looks to be the end section of an LED 'corn' retro-fit lamp is visible on this side of the bowl. The 1980s' galvanised column shows signs of age-related surface rust, although the protection is still keeping the steel relatively free of corrosion for now.

Moving over to the car park that is sandwiched between Woodhouse Central and Hall Park Way, two further P222s are seen - these are attached to 12 m columns.

Unlike the first example, these P222s still retain a reasonable covering black paint to their aluminium canopies.

The increase in height might also mean an increase in wattage and/or lamp quantity.

The columns could be CU Phosco products too, given that their top octagonal profiles match the profiles of the lanterns exactly.
