29BA. Moorfield Road, Wolverhampton With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. Attached to buildings that belonged, historically, to the Sunbeam Motor Company, are two gear-in-head Revo Lucidor B lanterns for 45 - 60 Watt SOI/H lamps (the latter being the forerunner to the 35 Watt SOX lamp). A third example, again, wall-mounted, but not pictured here, exists at the end of Sunbeam Street.

The lanterns are now disused, but must have still been in operation in the 1980s or 1990s, as one wall bracket supports a GEC Z9582 / Siemens SRL 35, as a replacement for a Lucidor.

As with my Lucidor A, the inclusion of integral control gear for running the lamp results in the canopy being rather block-shaped.

The steel wire armoured supply cables are cut just below where they terminate into a Y-shaped conduit box - this lantern will not be running again any time soon.

The second Lucidor is located on a corner bracket at the end of the building. A bowlless Thorn Beta 5 is visible on the corner of the building in the background.

Here, the cable terminates directly into the bracket.

The raised bump in the centre of the canopy marks the position of the top-entry attachment point on lanterns that are mounted in this way.
