33CC. Collin Street, Nottingham Attached to buildings positioned behind a walkway that is separate from the main Collin Street is a GEC Z5715 post-top lantern and wall bracket combination; presumably, the installation was added to provide dedicated illumination to the walkway, rather than relying on the main street lighting to provide sufficient back spill for the walkway to be lit effectively.

The Z5715 only exists as a single entity - no others are installed further along the walkway, and there is no evidence to suggest that there were ever more.

The lamp control gear is housed within the bracket arm. A length of Mineral-Insulated Copper-Clad (MICC) cable is seen emerging from beneath the bracket.

Maintaining this light must have been difficult, as there is no access along the walkway for vehicles, and so lamp changes must have had to be undertaken using a ladder.

Google Street View imagery suggests that a one-part NEMA photocell was fitted to the centre of the canopy; however, as this appears to be missing, the lantern may not be in use any longer.
