69CEB. Off Laburnum Road, Bournville, Stirchley, Birmingham, West Midlands With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. Installed on a roadway leading down to the Cadbury chocolate factory, at the junction of Willow Road, are two 25 ft (8 m) Stanton 6 concrete columns with B-type top-entry brackets supporting GEC Z9465 lanterns for 90 Watt SOX (low pressure sodium) lamps. A small single-storey building straddles the two columns, and may have served as a security office / weighbridge facility into the factory in the past; this would explain why the columns are spaced quite closely together.

With these versions of the Stanton 6 column having the slightly narrower base section, in comparison to earlier versions, they probably date from the mid-1950s - early 1960s.

The B-Type "Shepherd's Crook" brackets are in good condition, with neither showing any severe signs of spalling.

As the Z9454 family of lanterns originated in the 1950s, and remained in production until the mid-2000s (then as the WRTL MRL 90), determining the age of these examples is challenging without being able to see inside the lanterns.

The lamp in the background example appears rather worn, which suggests that it isn't used after nightfall these days.
