72DA. Northfield Close / The Lawns, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire With thanks to AgentHalogen_87 for informing me of these Survivors. Installed on both of these parallel cul-de-sacs are Stanton 10 F 15 ft (5 m) concrete columns supporting ELECO GR 501 lanterns. Although designed for 55 Watt lamps, the GR 501 is also able to accommodate shorter 35 Watt lamps, thanks to the placement of the internal lamp support, and thus, these lamps (or 26 Watt SOX-E equivalents) are installed here.

Unusually for this type of column, the door of the first column on Northfield Close is positioned to face any oncoming traffic. While this is common with column installation in the modern era, in the 1970s, when this estate was built, it was not.

A (possibly original) Royce Thompson P42 two-part photocell detector is visible to the rear of this lantern.

Moving onto The Lawns, this column is located at the end of the cul-de-sac.

Unlike my own GR 501, which has an acrylic bowl, these lanterns are fitted with polycarbonate bowls.

The lantern at the start of this cul-de-sac is fitted with a Zodion SS55 photocell detector instead.
