Off The Green, Cookshill, Caverswall, Staffordshire Moorlands With thanks to AgentHalogen_87 for informing me of this Survivor. Installed within the car park for The Auctioneer's Arms Public House are two 25 ft (8 m) tubular steel columns; one of which still supports a Revo Lucidor A A42.555 lantern - the second column having had a Thorn Civic 1 fitted in place at some point after 2012. Designed for running an 85 - 140 Watt SO/H / SOI/H (low pressure sodium; the precursor the later 55 - 90 Watt SOX) lamp, this initial version of the Lucidor featured an unusual side-entry mounting above the main canopy, limiting the brackets to which it could be fitted, as anything with too sharp a curve would foul the canopy. Revised versions saw the canopy redesigned to a more traditional setup.

The column is sandwiched between several of the buildings that make up the pub - I hope that some sort of relish was included!

The bracket design is unusual  in that it is slightly cranked after leaving the main spigot cap, but then becomes horizontal for the remainder of its length.

Moss growth on the bowl suggests that the lantern hasn't worked for many years. This design saw the lamp control gear positioned in the column base; the gear-in-head version being a very bulky, less streamlined affair.
