12JDD. John Ashby Close, Brixton Hill, London Borough of Lambeth. Thanks to Alex Monk for informing me of this Survivor. Attached to a building bordering Brixton Prison is a Thorn Alpha 7, with the lamp control gear housed within the lantern. With the street having its own column-mounted street lights, the Alpha 7 is likely to pre-date the construction of the cul-de-sac, and may have provided lighting to whatever occupied the land previously.

A length of Mineral Insulated cable connects the wall bracket, suggesting that the lantern may still be operational.

Sadly, the lantern's glass bowl looks to be cracked, although the lantern appears complete.

The die-cast aluminium bodywork is in good condition, and would clean up nicely.
