188. Abbey Lane, Oakmere, Northwich, Cheshire Located a short distance from the A54 Middlewich Road is a pole-mounted top-entry ELECO GR 525 35 Watt SOX lantern. The distinctive 'roof' shape that forms this lantern's canopy allows easy identification; the deeper canopy being required for the integral lamp control gear of this lantern; the separately-geared GR 535 having a much narrower, and more streamlined, canopy.

The pole bracket is very plain in its design, with little in the way of embellishment at the end of the bracket.

A Royce Thompson Oasis 1000 photocell rated at 70 Lux, and dating from the fourth week of 2005, switches the lantern as necessary.

The rural nature of this installation gives the lantern a rather lonely appearance!

The same type of bowl employed on the GR 535 is used with the GR 525; this has a slightly tapered underside, which looks more suited to the GR 535 than the more bulky GR 525.
