21g. Market Hall, Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire. Fitted to wall brackets fixed to the building are several very rare AEI 'Fleetwood' fluorescent lanterns - later the lantern was modified to take a single 140-200 W SLI/H or 135 W SOX lamp and became known as the Thorn Alpha 5. As the Fleetwood, the lantern was designed to accommodate four fluorescent tubes and it looks as if every tube is still intact in each lantern. I do not know whether the lanterns still work, having said that; however, they still look to be connected up.
Following refurbishment of the Market Hall in 2014, these lanterns were removed. The belief is that they were all saved for collectors, however.
