87e. Drabbles Road, Matlock. Yet more Matlock Survivors! These come in the form of GEC Z9531s (the gear in base, top-entry version of the Z9530) fitted with the 'original' style bowls with glued-on refractor panels. The lanterns are mounted to unsleeved Stanton columns which also adds to the rarity of the installations in Derbyshire. The road is steep with some sharp, narrow bends which is probably why they still remain. Although the lanterns are fitted with two-part cells these days, time switch operation would almost certainly have been used when they were new.

All of the columns seen on this page were replaced in July/August 2019.
