All of the outgoing road lanterns along here would have replaced Thorn Beta 7s running 80 Watt MBF in the mid-1990s. The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 28th March 2010.

The lamp fitted in this outgoing Thorn Beta 5 had a partially-blackened outer bulb. Owing to the column's imminent replacement, replacing the lamp at this stage would obviously have been a waste of time, resources and money.

This Beta 5 is on a more modern mid-hinged column on a footpath. Previously, a column supporting a Thorn Gamma 5 would have existed here.
