The existing lighting consisted of the following items in 1997.

The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 27th November 2010.

The first column from Upper Boundary Road was installed for this PFI scheme; at the time of photographing, it was not yet operational.

The first outgoing column supported a top-entry Thorn Beta 5. Oddly, the maintenance number applied to this column (31964) was for a column on Newhaven Road in Chaddesden in 1997. The column does not appear to be listed on the inventory records for Upper Boundary Road either. Although unlikely, perhaps this column was removed from Chaddesden and then re-installed here...we shall never know for sure.

A side-entry Beta 5 followed; this installation was here in 1997!

A column supporting the Beta 5's big brother, the Beta 2, was next.
