The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 19th September 2010.
A Thorn Beta 5 was first from Santolina Drive:
A slightly blackened lamp was installed within the lantern:
The newly-installed CPO-TW Iridium located nearby was still to be powered up at this stage.
The lantern featured a narrow optic:
Another Beta 5 followed.
The lamp support in this lantern appeared to have been misplaced at some point, resulting in a length of wire being fitted as a replacement:
At the fork in the road, another new column could be seen. A Thorn Gamma 6 is visible in the background.
A 1990s' Beta 5 was fitted to the following outgoing column.
The SC1000 photocell is clearly visible in this photograph. Notice that the lantern is fitted with the same deep bowl that the earlier examples are fitted with; by the time that this lantern was produced, the shallower bowl was also available for the Beta 5.
Again, the replacement column was not far away. The 'CATV' marking on the ground in the left-hand photograph shows the location of a cable television...er...cable, in order for the contractor excavating the footway when installing the new supply cable to the column to be aware of the cable's presence during excavation work.
Another Gamma 6 provided illumination in the turning area at the end of the road.
