The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 13th November 2010:

All but one of the outgoing columns along here were fitted with Thorn Beta 2 55 Watt SOX lanterns.

A Philips MI 36 was fitted to the second column.

This close-up shot reveals that the MI 36's reflector had worked loose from its internal mountings.

The blue (70 Lux) SC1000 photocell fitted to this Iridium suggests that this column and lantern may have been installed prior to this scheme commencing; perhaps the SOX column at this location was damaged and required complete replacement. The new lanterns installed on the rest of Downing Road are fitted with 35 Lux cells.

The GE SOX lamp fitted to this Beta 2 appears to have been fitted in 2007 - no wonder the arc tube looked worn in 2010!

The full-sized version of the photograph below clearly shows "35 Lux" marked on the identification labels applied to the cells during manufacture.
