All of the outgoing lanterns along here would have replaced Thorn Beta 7s running 80 Watt MBF in the mid 1990s. The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 28th March 2010.
The column below was a little newer than the others; a Philips MI 26 lantern was fitted.
Another MI 26 is seen here, albeit an older example and attached to an older column. Notice that the new column is installed to the rear of the footway, and not in the middle of the footway as the outgoing column was.
The Pathfinder previously photographed on the adjoining footpath was also up for replacement. Ironically, this therefore means that a lantern specifically designed for footpath use was replaced with a lantern more suited to roadway lighting...
