The following photographs were taken on Thursday, 28th October 2010:
A Thorn Beta 5 dating from the mid-late 1980s was first.
The Beta 5 was fitted with a SELC 841 photocell - a rarity in Derby.
New columns are not always installed alongside an outgoing equivalent - the installation below is evidence of this.
This Beta 5 was fitted with a Sirebeck S300 photocell.
The new column, still awaiting connection at this time, appeared in silhouette against the sun.
This Iridium incorporates an open reflector.
The angle of the third outgoing column's bracket looked particularly sharp.
