The following photographs were taken on Saturday, 30th October 2010:

GEC Z9538 lanterns made up the majority of the outgoing lanterns installed on this road.

The narrow reflector surrounding the Cosmo-White lamp can be seen within the new lantern.

Two Thorn Gamma 6s were installed on the footpath to Carrington Street. Apart from their Stainton mid-hinged columns requiring a lick of paint, they were in good condition.

Philips Iridium - Nature Version

The second Gamma 6 featured a clear reeded bowl. It may, therefore, be a newer lantern than the other lantern was.

The use of hinged columns on footpaths (or other areas that a maintenance vehicle would struggle to reach) undergoing relighting is very inconsistent on the PFI - non-hinged columns have been installed in many locations where access is even more limited than it is here. Thankfully, these replacement columns are of the hinged variety.

These Iridiums feature an open reflector - compare this to the closed reflector of the Iridium seen replacing the Z9538 further up this page.
