Derby's Street Lighting PFI Contract

2 |
31512 | OS NOS 8/10 | SXPL3 | 35
3 | 97887 | FP ADJ NO 15 | SXPL3 | 35
4 | 31513 | OS NO 17 | SXPL3 | 35 | |
5 | 31514 | OS NO 29 | SXPL2 | 35 | |

Most of the outgoing road lanterns along here would have replaced Thorn Beta 7s running 80 Watt MBF in the mid 1990s. The following photographs were taken on Sunday, 28th March 2010.
The first column, fitted with a Thorn Beta 5, was obviously a little newer than the other columns on the road.
This Thorn Gamma 6 on the footpath leading to Banwell Close was fitted to an Abacus raise and lower column.
Similarly, an Abacus column supported the Beta 5 on the footpath to Stanstead Road. A Gamma 6 may have been fitted here in the past. The bracket is fitted with an anti-glare shield; considering that a large tree stands adjacent, the shield must only have been of any use during the winter months, when no leaves were present.
