Local WRTL Pathfinders
Not a particularly common lantern in Derbyshire, the Pathfinder lantern appeared in very small numbers in Derby and in slightly higher numbers in the wider County of Derbyshire. Being primarily designed for use on footpaths and narrow roads, the lantern never made an appearance as a general street light.
This Pathfinder was located on a footpath off Draycott Drive in Mickleover, but disappeared when its column was removed in March 2010, as part of the Derby Street Lighting PFI.
A series of Pathfinders are installed on a footpath known as the Ripley Greenway; one example is pictured below.
Part of what looks to be the lantern's miniature photocell can be seen within the lantern's vast refractor bowl.
