Local Thorn Gamma 3s

This lantern was never widely used in this area; however, several were installed along East Street on 10 m Thorn Aluminium columns when the Eagle Shopping centre was built in the 1970s. These each ran a single 250 Watt SON-E lamp.

This Gamma 3 was located on East Street in the City Centre. Another can be seen in the background, and a Phosco P179 is behind that. When these lanterns were photographed in 2006, they were hanging on borrowed time - a couple of years later, they had been removed in their entirety.
