Local D.W. Windsor Warwicks

Yet another ornate lantern that was once to be found in the Darley Abbey Area (now removed) - I suspect that these lanterns might have been newer than their Phosco examples were.

A day burning 'long' example in Darley Abbey - obviously a time switch fault, as these lights retained time switch control, rather than being converted to photocell operation. The Warwick lanterns share a lot of components from GEC lanterns - the bowl is identical to the one used in the Z5698U.

The cast iron column supporting this Warwick must have met a rather grisly end in June 2009, with the column having been cut down to a stump, and marked with hazard tape and a cone.

Thankfully, the modern tubular steel column supporting a Philips Iridium was only a temporary replacement solution until another cast iron column could be sourced.
