London Underground...in Derby! |
Bakerloo |
Who says that the Underground is only for Londoners? Despite being Derby born and bred, from an early age, I gained an interest in this unusual railway system, but only in the last few years has this interest escalated (no pun intended!) to the level where I felt compelled to dedicate some web space to this essential method of public transport in England’s capital. In order for the text in this section of the site to appear correctly, I recommend that you download and install an open-source version of the classic New Johnston typeface This can be done by clicking here. The most recent updates to this section are: District line updated with an image of one of the train describers at Earl’s Court. Metropolitan line updated with details of a tour of the hidden parts of Baker Street station. Northern line updated with details of a tour of Clapham South deep-level shelter. Piccadilly line updated with details of a tour of the hidden parts of Holborn station, along with images of the surviving Passimeter at Hounslow West, and a video of a 1973 Stock train arriving at Leicester Square, and departing King’s Cross St Pancras. |
