109DC. Off Chesterton Road, Rotherham, South Yorkshire With thanks to Dwight for informing me of this Survivor. Attached to a combined wall bracket / control gear enclosure on a building that, today, operates as the Rotherham Football Centre, is a 1980s' Thorn EMI Alpha 1 lantern for 90 Watt SOX (low pressure sodium) lamps. The installation, along with another on the other side of the building, was inherited by the Football Centre when they took on the occupancy of the site at some point after 2012, and while I would guess that the Alpha 1 is now disused, I am still pleased to see it installed.

The presence of an LED floodlight that points in the approximate direction of where the Alpha 1 would be lighting suggests that the latter is not operational.

The acrylic Opticell part of the Alpha 1 shows several cracks, which could explain why the usually-sealed lamp area has developed a slight water ingress issue.

The lamp remains installed within the lantern.
