111H. Lichfield Street, Kettlebrook, Leyfields, Tamworth, Staffordshire With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. Installed on the roundabout that connects Lichfield Street, Lichfield Road, Tame Drive, Park Street and Moor Street are 12 m tubular steel columns, with two of these still supporting GEC Z9564 lanterns for 180 Watt SOX (low pressure sodium) lamps, though the lanterns are probably equipped with 131 Watt SOX-E lamps instead, as this is Staffordshire's SOX lamp preference. These columns and lanterns are probably original to when the roundabout was constructed in the 1970s or 80s, with the smaller Z9554M (for 135 Watt SOX / 91 Watt SOX-E lamps), attached to 10 m columns, being employed on the approaches, except for Moor Street, which uses Z9454s, for 90 Watt SOX / 66 Watt SOX-E.

This example is on the corner of Lichfield Street and Moor Street.

Unlike the Z9554M, which saw its aluminium canopy changed to a moulded GRP one instead (hence, the 'M' suffix), the Z9564 retained its aluminium canopy until the manufacture of the lantern was discontinued. The Zodion SS6 photocell looks rather small when fitted to such a vast lantern.

The second column is on the Tame Drive splitter.

A small pool of rainwater has accumulated in the back of the bowl.

When viewed from below, the bowl is otherwise not too grubby.
