113DCB. Brookside Place, Nether Heyford, Northamptonshire. With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. The street lighting installations on this short cul-de-sac all comprise Stanton 10A 15 ft (5 m) concrete columns supporting AC Ford AC 888 lanterns - these being the top-entry version of the AC 850. The lanterns are likely to run 80 Watt mercury vapour (MBF) lamps, making them especially rare in December 2023, when the pictures below were taken.

The AC888s are probably not the original lanterns to be fitted to these columns, but do complement the appearance particularly well.

A modern Zodion SS6 35 Lux photocell controls the lantern's switching.

The output of the already-discoloured polycarbonate bowl would be further compromised by the pile of dead wasps in its underside. Notice that the bowl ring retaining clip is also insecure.

The second column is located at the slight bend in the road.

A feature of the AC888 is the connector between the bracket and the main lantern canopy.

The concrete is in perfect condition, with no cracks being present at the joint between the column and the bracket.

The small pillar located alongside the third column is for the electricity distribution into the adjacent properties.

This AC888's canopy isn't quite closed correctly - the top section detaches from the rest of the lantern to allow access to the internal wiring and lamp control gear.
