13C. Off Kings Bromley Road, Alrewas, Staffordshire With thanks to Dwight for informing me of these Survivors. Located adjacent the narrow bridge over the Trent and Mersey Canal are two 10 ft (3 m) Revo 'Moseley' cast iron columns, both topped with a swan neck bracket and C14409/T ("Bell Top") lantern, also made by Revo. Given the positioning of the two columns, they are likely to be under the ownership of an adjacent property, but historically, may have been in the ownership of the canal authority.

The column's most recent paint scheme saw it painted white with black highlights. Much of this has worn off now, revealing an earlier green finish (possibly, the original green base coat), and bare metal beneath that.

The C14409 and C14410 versions of the Bell Top both used a glass refractor bowl; the only difference between the two versions was that the 09 was for 60 - 200 Watt GLS (incandescent tungsten filament) lamps, and probably used a two-pin bayonet lampholder, whereas the latter ran 80 - 125 Watt MBF (mercury vapour) lamps instead, using a three-pin bayonet lampholder.

Although the lantern is orientated correctly in respect of the swan neck bracket's angle, the bowl is not, and would require rotating anticlockwise a small amount to be correct.

The second installation is to be found a little further along the towpath.

The paint finish is also in poor condition here.

The top spike of the swan neck bracket's finial is broken. This bowl is also not positioned correctly.
