194H. Leasowe Road / Wallasey Village, Wallasey, Merseyside Situated on the middle of a roundabout at the junction of these two roads is a 6 m tubular steel column supporting a Thorn Gamma 3 post-top lantern, designed for a single 250 - 400 Watt MBF (mercury vapour), SON (high pressure sodium) or MBI (metal halide) lamp, and ordinarily, intended to be installed at 8 m.

Dense vegetation surrounds the column around its base, making access particularly difficult.

Although not visible from this angle, a Royce Thompson P42 two-part photocell detector is positioned on the Gamma 3's canopy.
