211D. Howard Street South, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk With thanks to Dwight for informing me of this Survivor. Situated to the western side of a car park is a 15 ft (5 m) Stanton 9-series concrete column that used to support a GEC Z5643 post-top lantern. Sadly, at some point between August 2022 and June 2024 (when these pictures were taken), everything but the Z5643's base casting were removed, though even in 2022, the lantern appeared derelict, with its bowl having been lost after 2019, and so I suppose that it was doomed for many years.

Google Street View imagery suggests that the lantern ended its days running some sort of compact fluorescent lamp, suggesting that it would have run a GLS (tungsten filament) lamp originally, and by extension, that the column's base compartment wouldn't feature much equipment, as it would if a discharge lamp were installed instead.

The surviving spigot cap looks rather forlorn without the rest of its lantern remaining.

Once the bowl had disappeared, the top part of the lantern frame was free to slide down the column shaft until the tapering became too great.
