21KA. Saint Modwen's Close, Horninglow, Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire With thanks to AgentHalogen_87 for informing me of this Survivor. Located on a bend in a footpath behind a group of houses is a Thorn 'Sheerline' 5 m sheet aluminium column supporting a CU Phosco P178 post-top lantern. This appears to have been a common installation around this part of the estate, as other Sheerline columns remain extant, but are topped with more modern lanterns now. Restricted access to this installation could be how it has avoided similar alteration, along with the footpath being unlikely to see much use, owing to its design, even during the day.

As the column carries a Staffordshire maintenance number, I assume that it must be a 'known' installation, even with it being of an older appearance.

A Zodion SS6 photocell is visible on top of the canopy.

Although the oval Thorn logo plate is missing from the column shaft, its former position is visible.

A small hole in the bowl is the only sign of damage that has occurred to the lantern.

The column has a slight lean to it when viewed from this angle.

The black paint applied to the lantern's aluminium canopy and base casting has worn away over time.
