2AAB. Lansdowne Road, Skegness, Lincolnshire With thanks to Dwight for informing me of this Survivor. Located a short distance up this private road is a Stanton 9 15 ft (5 m) concrete column, supporting a 'D'-type bracket an Revo C14408/T ("Bell Top") lantern. Today, the lantern runs a domestic tungsten (GLS) candle lamp, which is likely to have been installed by a resident on the road at some point, although I am not certain as to whether it works or not.

The column is sandwiched between a wooden fence and a set of railings.

The 'D'-type bracket is notable for its angular, cranked appearance, compared to other Stanton brackets, which tended to be more curved in their design.

The Bell Top lantern is missing its bowl, though as there was an official option where the lantern could be ordered without a bowl, it may never have had one. Additionally, there is no provision for installing a central refractor dome, and the usual Road / Path indicator arrows are absent from the internal enamelled reflector panel.

The original lampholder support bracket must also be missing, as the current E27 Edison Screw lampholder (itself, likely to be a replacement) is dangling out of the lantern by the two original asbestos-sheathed wires.

The numbers 5 and 7 are stencilled onto the door.

The joint between the column and the bracket is showing signs of spalling.

Close-up of the structural damage, along with the rusted internal pipe embedded within the concrete.
