97GE. Bloomfield Crescent / Hewitt Close, Dimbles, Lichfield, Staffordshire With thanks to AgentHalogen_87 for informing me of these Survivors. Installed just off both of these two roads are ELECO HW-897 / PT-895 lanterns, for 45 - 60 Watt SO/H and SOI/H (35 Watt SOX in later years) lamps. Whilst the Bloomfield Crescent example is fitted to a 15 ft (5 m) ELECO aluminium column (a Silverline HW 1226-1 type), the Hewitt Close lantern is fitted to a 15 ft tubular steel column instead, despite both likely to be of much the same age.
Despite not needing to be painted, the Silverline column carries Lichfield's familiar light green finish.
The HW-897's base casting is also painted.
The paint is scraped around the base, revealing the original aluminium finish beneath. An earlier light blue paint finish is also visible in places.
The tubular steel column is situated on a footpath that allows access to the surrounding properties, but has no easy vehicular access, which must make maintenance somewhat trickier.
The base casting of this lantern is also painted the light green of the other example, whereas the column is painted something more akin to the dark green employed in Derbyshire.
The ELECO logo is prominent on the base casting.
